Deciding to partner with a life coach requires thoughtful consideration.

This Helpful Info offers clarity and insight as you consider whether partnering with me might be a good fit for you.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a relational, growth-oriented partnership that focuses on harnessing agency and activating potential.

A life coach provides support and accountability in a client’s journey from where they are to where they want to be.

This happens through a process that is collaborative, thought-provoking, and action-oriented.

Who is life coaching for?

Life unfolds in seasons, and coaching can support people at whatever stage of life they are in – to explore possibilities, gain clarity, navigate transitions, achieve goals, strengthen relationships, and overcome challenges.

Life coaching is for anyone who wants to live out their potential more fully and is willing to make intentional choices to do so.

How is life coaching different from counselling and therapy?

Counselling and therapy usually support people in healing from emotional pain, working through trauma, or managing mental health challenges. Counselling often focuses on current issues, while therapy may involve deeper exploration of long-term patterns or past experiences.

Life coaching focuses on the present and the future: providing people with support and accountability in understanding where they are, envisioning where they want to be, and taking action to get there.

How can you know if counselling, therapy, or life coaching is the better option for you?

If you feel emotionally stuck or distressed, are experiencing trauma, or need support for a mental health challenge, it may be more helpful to seek support from a professional counsellor or therapist instead of or alongside a life coach.

If you are emotionally and mentally well, and want support and accountability in harnessing your agency and activating more of your potential, life coaching might benefit you immensely.

Is life coaching a form of mentoring?

Life coaching and mentoring are both relational, growth-oriented relationships – but they are distinct in purpose and approach.

Mentoring typically involves guidance from someone who has walked a similar path and offers wisdom, insight, and advice based on their personal and/or professional experience.

Life coaching focuses on the client surfacing insights and making self-directed choices. A life coach acts as a thinking partner, supporting the client to explore and pursue their priorities and goals.

What happens in a life coaching session?

A coaching session is a collaboration in reflecting, gaining insight, and strategising.

As a thinking partner, I listen deeply, ask insight-provoking questions, and hold space for clients to explore possibilities and make intentional choices for growth.

Do I incorporate Christian faith into my life coaching?

For individual coaching clients who desire it, I offer coaching that integrates Christian faith (known as Christian Life Coaching).

The core components of this are Holy Spirit-led guidance, prayer, and biblical truth.

The purpose is to create space for and seek God’s presence, voice, and guidance in the coaching process.

Integrating Christian faith into the coaching process is optional and guided by clients’ preferences.

How many group and individual clients do I coach at any given time?

To ensure each client receives a high-quality coaching experience, I intentionally limit the number of clients I coach.

I do this by:

Offering up to two Growth Squared: Blueprint and up to two Growth Squared: Accelerate group coaching programmes (each with three to five clients) per month, from January to November.

Providing individual coaching to up to ten clients at a time, from January to November.
